 Type of business and profile of user

Zen restaurant is one of the top-three of the most popular Japanese restaurant in Thailand. There are 15 branches opened all over Thailand. Most of them are in Bangkok area, which are located in the department stores. There are just a few branches opened in the area except Bangkok.

 Installation Date : April 2003

 System Configuration

The system was installed according to the size of the shop, which are medium and large size. There are 14 medium shops and 1 large shops.

Medium shop (15-30 tables) installation:
1 Unit of TE-8000F
1 Unit of SP-1300
ZEN restaurant needs to use the long bill receipt for customers.

Large shop (30-40 tables) installation:
2 Units of TE-8000F
1 Unit of SP-1300

 What was the problem with Zen Restaurant?

Zen Restaurant used PC-POS for its cash sales operations. There were some problems of the complexity of the software when errors occurred, the users couldn't solve it by themselves. They had to ask the programmer to solve the errors for them. This caused delay in operations and services. There were also maintenance cost for the software, which would increase every year and the amount is quite high.

 Proposals to Zen Restaurant

We made the proposal to Zen by dividing into 2 steps as follows:
Step I  : TE-8000F and SP-1300
Step II : UP-350 (Kitchen printer) and Software for back office
Zen restaurant decided to order for step I first and Zen will order for step II when they get familiar with the new system. The proposals were offered to Zen with the special price. There are 1-year guarantee for the products and after sales services provided by Central Trading Co., Ltd. There was also training course for users to get familiar with the system before using.

 How did Zen Restaurant decide to introduce Casio TE-8000F?

Zen restaurant decided to use TE-8000F because it trusts in the brand "CASIO". Zen used to have experience in using CASIO TK-7000 in the past and there were no problems. Zen also impressed with the services provided by Central Trading Co., Ltd. from using TK-7000. Zen likes the large size of multi-line color display, because it can operate very easily. Moreover, the features and specifications of TE-8000F are suitable for restaurant business like Zen restaurant. TE-8000F can solve all the problems faced by Zen restaurant by using PC-POS system since there would be no such maintenance cost and the copyright problem. Operations and services will not be delayed because errors will now be solved by users themselves.

 Improvement of Zen restaurant business after using the CASIO product

After Central Trading installed the system and provided training for Zen restaurant's users, the operations of Zen restaurant have improved a lot. Central Trading provided some staffs to stand by on site at Zen restaurants in order to provide services and on the job training to the users of TE-8000F and advise them how to solve problems by themselves as well. Most of the problems are from human errors in which the users were still unfamiliar with the machine for the first few weeks of using. However, after the users used it for a while, the errors gradually reduced and the users can solve problems by themselves. Central Trading also had meetings for discussing about the problems and feedback from using TE-8000F with Zen. TE-8000F can provide services to its customers more smooth and satisfying.
