Pizza operation. When a pizza is ordered, it is made in front
of you with fresh ingredients and dough. When you take the pizza
it is uncooked, you take it home and cook it when you are ready
to eat. Cooking the pizza takes 20 minutes.
Currently Papa Murphy's has 725 stores, 2 to 3 terminals per store,
and they are growing quickly and expanding to the eastern part
of the USA.

- There are
2 to 3 terminals (some larger franchises will install a 4th terminal
to handle the phone-in orders using the guest check file) per
location.
Each machine has a UP-350 printer for receipts and a UP-250 printer
for printing the assembly line preparation. Some of the stores
will be using CPS polling, reporting and maintenance software
package.
What was
the problem with Papa Murphy's system?
- They were
using 15 department cash registers of the other maker and had
no control over their item sales and accountability.
Proposals to
Papa Murphy's
- With the
QT-2000's large keyboard and 8 menu levels they could control
their item movements, department and group sales. Plus with the
time & attendance file they can control their labor versus their
sales in the store. The intelligent coupon file will also control
the company issued coupons so that a coupon is not applied to
a transaction without the items being entered.
How did Papa
Murphy's decide to introduce Casio QT-2000 / QT-2100?
- The QT-2000
was installed for 5 months into test store with no problems. Casio
Inc supports Papa Murphy's directly making programming changes
and downloading them to the store via modem. So the reliability
of the product and support was the deciding factor.
Improvement
Papa Murphy's business after using the CASIO product
- Since installing
the Casio's the Papa Murphy's stores have seen an improvement
of speed of service, training new employee's is made easier, better
reporting and they can control their phone-in orders much better
with the QT-2000 guest check file.
